In collaboration with the French Institute of Beirut, the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts presents a masterclass of BD author Cosey, Friday, March 16, 2018 at 17:30 in the auditorium -2.
About the author:
Creator of the famous comic strip Jonathan, Bernard Cosandey alias Cosey is an author and a traveller who makes his characters travel the world for adventure and spirituality. With the wanderings of his paper’s alter ego, Cosey walks us between Nepal, India, Tibet and the United States, Burma and Japan.
With À la recherche de Peter Pan which focuses on his native Switzerland and Le voyage en Italie, Cosey aims at a more adult audience and gives new impetus to his work. This will be followed by several stories where the characters pursue their personal quests along with Cosey’s graphic and narrative drawing board.
Cosey has won the Grand Prix Saint-Michel in 1979, the best album Award for Kate at the “Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulème” in 1982, the Max und Moritz Prize in 1988, the prize for Saigon - Hanoi screenplay at the “Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulème” in 1993 and the prestigious award le Grand Prix de la ville d’Angoulême in 2017.
